DISTRICT 8 Commander Honored at Yardley Borough Veterans Day Program

District 8 Commander John August Otte was honored as the guest speaker for the Yardley Borough Veterans Day Memorial on Saturday November 11, 2023. What a great turnout for the event with an incredible partnership between VFW Post 6393 Yardley Pennsylvania and American Legion Post 317. An absolutely beautiful day to honor local veterans in the area. I want to thank VFW Post 6393 Commander Kirk Saboda and Past Post Commander Russ Davidson for arranging the honors from both U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick and PA State House Representative Rep. Perry Warren. I am humbled by the experience to have received these amazing awards from both representatives. May God continue to bless our veterans and the United States of America!

Quakertown VFW Post 11322 and District 8 Honor First Female Eagle Scout in Upper Bucks County

District 8 Commander John August Otte and Quakertown VFW Post Commander Paul Gerhart present a certificate of appreciation and a District 8 Commanders Coin to Eagle Scout Kayla Wuffleff from Scout Troop 55 in Trumbauersville, PA. Kayla is the first female eagle Scout from the Upper bucks County Council to earn her Eagle Scout award. Kayla’s Eagle Scout project included honoring our nations veterans with the installation of branch of service plaques at the Borough Memorial in the center of town.  We are incredibly proud of Kayla and wish her a hearty District 8 Congratulations on her accomplishment of attaining Eagle Scout!

Yardley VFW Post 6393 Honors VFW Scout of the year Winner!

District 8 Commander John August Otte and VFW Auxiliary State President Mary Jean Cuddyre-Mastridge present the second place VFW Scout of the year award to the Parents of Colin Wisniewski at the monthly meeting of Yardley-Makefield VFW Post 6393. The house was packed! This post is nothing short of incredible. They even read the oath of obligation to 3 new Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary members this evening. How exciting it was to see their faces. They couldn’t have picked a better post.

Madame President Cuddyre-Mastridge gave a heartfelt and warm thanks to the veterans on hand and how much she appreciated each and every one of them. She spoke from her heart about how she admired and appreciated their service and sacrifice to this great country.
A sincere thank you to Post Commander Kirk Saboda, his leadership leadership team and the members of Post 6393 for the warm welcome and great hospitality. We sincerely appreciate it.

Chalfont VFW Post 3258 honors VFW State Patriots Pen Youth Essay Winner

District 8 is Incredibly proud of the fantastic essay written by Katherine Bruner from Maple Glen, PA for the VFW 2023 Patriots Pen youth essay program. Katherine was the Pennsylvania State Winner this year and was awarded a national scholarship in the amount of $1,000. District 8 Commander John August Otte presented Katherine with her award on behalf of the VFW National organization at the regular meeting of the Chalfont VFW Post 3258 in New Britain Township.
 
Also attending was PA Department VFW Auxiliary President MaryJean Cuddyre-Mastridge, Past VFW State Commander Ben Mastridge, District 8 VFW Auxiliary President Lynn Musselman and District 8 VFW Senior Vice Commander Joseph Mendez. A very big thank you to Post 3258 Commander Dave Dantzler and his staff for the warm welcome and great hospitality.
